Doing anything for the first time can be challenging. Remember the first selfie you took? How about your first tweet? Do you remember the first time you took a picture of your food and posted it to social media? Well, Kapsule is no different.

Here are 6 tips to help you easily start en-Kapsulating the moment and connecting with your future world.

1. Visualize who you're speaking to

‍Whether it's your future self, a family member, or even someone you haven't met yet, visualize them in your mind. What do they look like? Where are they in their future world? What age will they be when they receive your Kapsule?

This will help frame who you want to send a Kapsule to and when you want them to receive it.

2. Visualize them watching your Kapsule

Now picture the video (the one you’re about to record) playing for them in the future. What’s something that will be meaningful to them in the future? How do you want them to feel? How will the passing of time make that feeling resonate with them even more strongly?

This will help you decide what you want to say to them.

3. Keep it short and sweet

A short and sweet message is key to creating Kapsules. Think about receiving a greeting card. Would you rather receive a card with writing on both sides of the card in small font? Or would rather get a card that had the right sentiment, was personalized by the sender, and delivered at the right time?

4. Be yourself

The most impactful Kapsules are the ones where you’re yourself. You don’t need any filters, music, or stickers. Those will only distract from your message and age poorly over time. Instead, be the genuine version of you. Trust us, your future recipient would rather see the “true you” than a version of you covered up by various effects.

5. Don't overthink it

You don’t need to write a script or an essay. Just picture your recipient in the future and speak to them from the heart. It’s ok to have “umms” and “ahhs” in the video. Your future recipient isn’t going to care – those genuine elements truly illustrate you in the moment. Remember, en-Kapsulating the moment is what matters most.

6. Start now

The best time to create a Kapsule is in the past. The second best time is now. Take a moment to re-read this post and just start. Your future self will thank you. So will the person you send your first Kapsule to.
